Uganda’s music superstar Eddy Kenzo has been confirmed among the headline performers at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 final closing ceremony in Nairobi, Kenya.

The event, which takes place on August 30, 2025 at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, will bring together some of East Africa’s biggest names in music, including Tanzania’s Zuchu and Kenya’s Savara.

For Ugandans, Kenzo’s inclusion is a major win, as he continues to showcase his artistry on some of the continent’s biggest stages. The BET Award winner has long been celebrated for carrying the Ugandan flag high, and this performance is expected to further cement his place among Africa’s top entertainers.

Kenzo’s participation comes at a time when his fellow headliner Zuchu has been at the center of controversy. Just two months ago, the Tanzanian singer declared she would never collaborate with Kenyan artists, accusing them of disrespecting Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu. Her remarks triggered backlash from Kenyan fans, with some even calling for her music to be banned in the country.

Despite the controversy, the closing ceremony promises to be a spectacular display of African talent, with Kenzo representing Uganda alongside his regional counterparts.

The CHAN 2025 tournament, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, will conclude with the much-anticipated musical performances, ensuring that Uganda’s name and sound are firmly etched in the continental celebration.
